The War Scholar, Doctrines & Doctrinal Alchemy

Once you hit level 25, you will gain access to the War Scholar. These are little accessories you can apply to your units to improve their stats and occasionally give them new abilities.

At level 70, you will unlock Doctrinal Alchemy, where you can combine doctrines to get more powerful doctrines. This is where the game gets super confusing, but worry not! I know the way.

Let's dive in by pressing X, then click Doctrinal Alchemy. First thing to note is the Tempering bar at the bottom center of your screen. When this bar fills up to 5,000 Temper, you will get a guaranteed Tier 5 Epic Doctrine regardless of the quality of wisdoms or doctrines you used. If you can fill that bar with 8 grey doctrines, you're in luck! Never fill that bar using blue or purple doctrines, and certainly not while using a Pure Wisdom. Always aim to fill it with grey or green doctrines to minimize waste.

Now, before you go smashing random doctrines into progress that temper bar, let's go over some touch points:

• Never use a seasonal unit doctrine in Alchemy. These may not be able to be acquired again, and you'll lose them forever. If that unit becomes the next big meta, you'll be left without.

• Always keep at least 2 of each Purple doctrine. This ensures that as new units enter the game, you have some doctrines to give them.

• Only Use Pure Wisdoms with 8 Purple Doctrines Only. Make sure it does not fill the bar so as not to waste the doctrines and Wisdom.

• The Magic Formula: 

• 1x Epic Wisdom

• 3x Rare Wisdoms

• 4x Common Wisdoms

This formula will result in 100 Temper, and the guaranteed result of 2x Epic Wisdoms or an Epic Doctrine.
